Josh Cuozzo enters his 8th year on the 21CS Training Team, serving as a Camp Director for the past six seasons.  Coach Cuozzo arrived to 21CS via Mt. St. Vincent’s College in Riverdale, N.Y., where he was a 3-time Captain, an impressive and rare feat.

“Josh is mature beyond his years, always has been”, said Consiglio.  “Years ago, at the age of 25, he was serving as a Camp Director for us, the youngest we’ve ever had.  It’s a great testament to his maturity, responsibility and natural ability to lead others, both players and staff alike.

“At the same time, he has a knack for establishing fun, positive relationships with campers of all age and ability levels, while actively maintaining child safety as the camp’s top priority.  What’s more is that over the years parents have told us how outstanding a communicator he is.  When you hear that from the parents themselves, you know you have something special.

“There’s a reason we assigned Josh to the post in New Castle for the summer of 2017.  Simply put, he may be our best.  As a credit to Coach Kearns, the baseball families in New Castle have come to expect a high standard of care for this summer baseball program.  Fortunately, we’ve produced over 100 weeks of summer baseball camp, dating back to 2006, in other local towns such as Mamaroneck, Rye and Yorktown.  Moving forward, we are genuinely excited to continue the same standard of excellence to which we’ve always held ourselves accountable for the New Castle baseball community.”

During his playing career, Coach Cuozzo garnered the 2009 Skyline Conference’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, earned a N.Y.S. Region Gold Glove at 3rd base and ranked 3rd as the school’s all-time career hits leader.  Cuozzo also pitched for the Dolphins before sustaining an injury his junior year that prevented him from competing on the mound during the rest of his career. Prior to his stint atMt. St. Michael, Cuozzo was a state champion at Clarke High School in Long Island, captaining the squad to the N.Y.S. Class A championship in 2005 while winning All-Conference honors. In 2011, Cuozzo elevated to the college ranks, serving as the Head Assistant Coach at Lehman College (CUNY).  In 2015, he was named the pitching coach at Salesian High School, helping lead them to within one out of winning their first League Championship in nearly 50 years.

Currently Coach Cuozzo is in the process of obtaining his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at Lehman College (CUNY).
