Justin McCarthy, Camp Director

Justin McCarthy is in his 7th year as a Camp Director and Performance Trainer with Blueprint. After a highly successful high school career, which culminated in 2010 with NYS Class A Section 1 Championship and run to the NYS Final Four, McCarthy then went onto an even more acclaimed college career, pitching for 4 years at SUNY-Brockport.  He pitched all 4 years at SUNY-Brockport, including in 2012, when he worked his way into becoming a Division III 3rd team All-American, finishing 3rd in the country in Saves.  He concluded his career as SUNY-Brockport’s all-time leader in both Saves and Appearances.  Following his collegiate playing career, McCarthy stayed on as an Assistant Coach for 2 seasons, working with both Pitchers and Infielders during that time.  Since 2018, McCarthy has continued to serve as an Assistant Coach, this time for the Lakeland Varsity Hornets, who finished #2 in all of NYS Class A.  In 2019, McCarthy helped lead the Hornets to a 24-3 record while also overseeing the development of New York State’s Gatorade Player of the Year on the mound and at the plate. In 2023, he was tabbed to serve as the next Head Coach of the illustrious program.

“We’re thrilled to have someone with Justin’s skill set on board”, said Consiglio.  “He has great poise and maturity for someone his age, thus making him a natural leader.  He’s also an elementary Physical Education teacher, which is key because he knows how to break things down into simple ‘digestible’ parts when instructing young players.  All of these attributes, combined with his successful pedigree as both a player and coach make him an incredible asset as a member our training and leadership staff.”
