Coach Billy Horn brings a wealth of experience to the 21CS Trainnig Team. He his currently in his second year as pitching coach for the Ottawa Champions of the Can-Am Independent League.
He is coaching under Hal Lanier, who was a 10-year MLB veteran and 3-year MLB manager, and was awarded the 1986 NL Manager of the Year for his work at the helm of the Houston Astros. Billy was the Pitching Coordinator for the Arizona Winter league in 2016. He oversaw over 100 professional pitchers on a daily basis and assist them on all aspects of their game – including the mental and mechanical side of pitching at the professional level, making in game pitch by pitch adjustments, scouting reports on other hitters and overall conditioning program.
In May 2016, Coach Horn volunteered his time to oversee a FREE pitching clinic for Northern Westchester’s lil’ ballers. The program filled up in just 5 days, with 50 kids having signed up! Unfortunately, due to incredibly raw weather (42 degrees and rainy!), the clinic was canceled.

Previously, Coach Horn was the pitching coach and Assistant General Manager for the Roswell Invaders of the Pecos Independent League. It was here in New Mexico where he assisted in the signing of Charlie Short, RHP, to the New York Yankees organization.
Billy played for the Grosseto Orioles of the Italian Professional Baseball League in 2010. In 2005, he played under MLB great Darrell Evans for the Long Beach Armada of the Golden Baseball League. Before that, he played two seasons, 2003-04, for the San Marino Titans of the Italian Professional Baseball League.
Billy was the pitching coach for the 2009 NCAA DII National Champion Lynn University Knights. In his time there, he helped produce NCAA Division II National Pitcher of the Year, Dan Wright. Billy also had the privilege of coaching Tom Kahnle, RHP, the 5th round pick of the New York Yankees and current closer for Colorado Rockies.
Coach Horn has also been the Owner/Operator of Elite 22 Superstars since July of 2001. He operates and runs a professional organization from youth, high school, college players & a professional team. In the spring of 2015, his professional team played 6 spring training games vs MLB affiliated organizations, including the Philadelphia Phillies & Miami Marlins.
The staff at 21st Century Sports has done an excellent job working with all of the baseball programs in our town – from TeeBall to Little League to Babe Ruth & up through the Varsity program – over the last few years. They take a comprehensive approach to the ‘well-being’ of our baseball feeder programs and have helped us instill a systematic instructional program to pass on to both our youngsters and coaches. More imporantly, they have established personal relationships and connections with each of the different baseball programs in our town. This comprehensive approach enables everyone in our baseball community, from the time they are first able to throw a ball until they leave for college, with the feeling that not only have they been provided with the very best possible instruction, but have worked and interacted with our children and parents – as people who sincerely care about the game of baseball as well as each individual’s skill development.
Coach Consiglio does a great job in developing the young player. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about the game and takes a lot of pride in seeing his players progress. I have no doubt he will lead his staff to undertake this same mission.

Coach Consiglio opened my eyes to the possibility of playing college baseball. He helped me in all aspects of my game; helping me to improve my skills on the field, my mental makeup about the game, and how to handle the college recruiting process. He was always there to offer honest and straightforward advice and continues to check up once my collegiate career began.
I fully appreciate the enthusiasm Bill and his staff have in communicating the sound principles of baseball. Far too often in the college recruiting process we see young players who have no understanding of how to play the game. Yet, they are unrealistically in pursuit of a college scholarship. I am not saying that every player who participates in 21st Century Sports will receive a college scholarship to play baseball. What I will say is that Coach Consiglio and his staff will provide players with the proper techniques to give them the best chance to have a positive baseball experience, no matter what level they aspire to play – college, high school or Little League. And as a parent myself, that’s all you can ask.
