Anthony J. Marino, Performance Trainer

Coach Anthony J. Marino is a graduate Hofstra University where he holds a BS as an Exercise Specialist and a Masters Degree in Physical Education. He is a full time Physical Education Teacher for the Chappaqua Central School District where he was hired in 2001.  Coach Marino is a teacher and Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Horace Greeley High School. He brings with him more than 30 years of baseball experience and is a former NCAA Division 1 Baseball Player and Coach at Hofstra University.

Coach Marino is the 8th coach in history for Greeley and is the 2nd longest tenured coach in program history. This season will begin his 13th season at the helm of the Quakers Baseball Program (15th overall), and during his tenure Marino has turned the Quakers into a stable and consistent program. Before his arrival the program was going through a time of turnover. Prior to his taking over the head coaching role, Greeley went through 3 coaches in 5 years (and 6 coaches in 15 years). In only his 2nd season, he was the 2005 recipient of League Coach of The Year, that year Coach Marino helped guide the Quakers to their first League Title since 1978, thus breaking a twenty-seven year drought. His teams have gone on to win 3 of the schools 7 league titles (2005, 2010, 2015) and narrowly missed a fourth in 2006. He has since won the Coach Of The Year Award in 2010 and again in 2015 while also being recognized as the Conference Coach Of The Year in 2015. During his time at Greeley 33 of Coach Marino’s Quakers have gone on to play college ball, including a MLB draft pick (Expos ’03) and Danbury Westerner (’04), Sean O’Brien (Virginia Tech). Coach Marino, a Long Island NY native, now calls Ridgefield, CT his home with his wife, Rachel, and three children.
